Cubist drawings

Last Saturday we drew a pile of boxes from a number of different angles all on the one piece of paper with charcoal. The end results were great and very varied. The first group and the last group showed off their pictures beautifully ...

unlike the middle group...!
These were four quick drawings by the last group, just drawing black shapes quickly and starting to fill them in.

The rest of the time was spent building vertical sculptures out of small boxes.  These are in progress and are in our storage area... my garage.

Large scale paintings

ArtWorks started back on Saturday after the Christmas break.  To kick off the new block, we painted large scale paintings, inspired by postcards of other people's artworks.  Each group chose which one they wanted to do and it ranged from a Bridget Riley dot painting to an 18th century delicate painting of a family group paddling in the sea, via Miro.  The results were great, especially considering each painting was completed in less than 45 minutes.
