New session of ArtWorks

Although it is the English Bank Holiday weekend, it is business as usual in Scotland and ArtWorks started its autumn session yesterday.  It was great to see old faces and to meet new ones.  It promises to be very busy and exciting over the next few months.

To kick off the session, we did some big painting - each of these paintings is approx 1.5 x 1.5m.  We brought in lots of postcards of artwork and the kids decided in groups which ones they wanted to paint.

There was a mixture of well known and lesser recognised artists and decorative as well as fine art.  The top one is based on Cezanne, the second one a stained glass.

This one was based on a cave painting and a group of Primary Ones had a fantastic time making the background before adding the outline of the animal.

This group of P5-7 based their work on Matisse's Snail.
